[17 February 2006 – Beijing China] SUNWAH LINUX, Asia’s leading open source and Linux solutions provider in China, announced that its RAYS LX and RAYS PX operating systems received two Editor’s Choice Awards from Open Source World in the “Best Linux Desktop Distribution” and “Innovative Desktop Solution categories.” Both products continue to gain widespread recognition in the Linux operating system field in China.

Open Source World’s 2005 Editor’s Choice Awards was aimed at openly endorsing the most outstanding Linux applications of the year. The selecting procedure includes three steps: Firstly, opinions were sought from experts, government officials, enterprises and professionals in the Chinese Linux Industry. Secondly, results from a readers’ poll were taken into account. Finally, each product was evaluated by the Editorial Board and the Linux Open Lab of the China Software Testing Center. Results of this rigorous selection process enabled the awards to be objective and more widely recognized.

On October 2005, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education chose SUNWAH LINUX’s RAYS LX operating system for its “School-to-School Project,” an education program dedicated to supply PCs to elementary and secondary schools in low-income areas of nine cities in the provinces. This was the Largest Linux Desktop Roll-Out in China’s History with the deployment of 141,624 PCs and the successful bidding of the project recognized Sun Wah’s efforts on providing high quality, stable and low-cost Linux Desktop.
